Singapore’s football association confirmed on May 6 that the Singapore men’s national team will host China in an international friendly on June 5 at 19:30 local time. Before that, Singapore will play another friendly against Mongolia on May 31.
According to the latest FIFA world rankings, China sits in 94th place while Singapore is ranked 147th, a difference of 53 positions. The two sides have previously met in the 2026 World Cup Asian qualifiers, where China drew 2-2 away and won 4-1 at home.
In March 2026, China’s national team, now under head coach Shao Jiayi, played two FIFA Series matches, winning 2-0 against Curaçao and losing 0-2 to Cameroon. The upcoming friendly will serve as further preparation for both teams.
