According to sources, Sandro Schwarz is ready to take over CSKA, but only under the condition of a protected three-year contract with a salary of €2–2.5 million. The club is reportedly not satisfied with these terms, and negotiations are still ongoing.

Schwarz, 47, has previously managed Mainz, Hertha, Dynamo Moscow, and the New York Red Bulls.

CSKA also held talks with former head coach Marko Nikolic, now at AEK, and Al Ain boss Vladimir Ivic. However, both are satisfied with their current positions, leading the club to focus on Schwarz.

In addition, CSKA is in discussions with another ex-Dynamo Moscow coach, Marcel Licka. The club’s leadership also has other options, including the possibility of keeping Dmitry Ivgisamov, who currently serves as interim head coach.

After 29 rounds of the 2025/26 RPL season, CSKA sits fifth in the table with 48 points. In their final match of the season on May 17, they will host Lokomotiv.
