The first game of the Gagarin Cup Final series in the Kontinental Hockey League took place today, May 11. Here is the result of the match:
**Lokomotiv vs. Ak Bars — 3:1 (series score: 1-0)**
The winner of the series will be determined after at least four games (the series goes to four wins). The first two matches are hosted in Yaroslavl on May 11 and 13. The series then moves to Kazan for games scheduled on May 15 and 17. If necessary, remaining games will be held on May 19 (Yaroslavl), May 21 (Kazan), and May 23 (Yaroslavl).
In the semifinals, Lokomotiv defeated Omsk’s Avangard, coming back from a 1-3 deficit in the series. Ak Bars beat Magnitogorsk’s Metallurg in five games (4-1).
