A major contest is here.
The 2025/26 Tribuna Awards have launched, along with a category worth putting everything aside to write a new piece.
We are seeking the “Best New Text on Tribuna” – the author will take home 100,000 rubles. The entry rules are straightforward: publish an original piece on the site by May 15 that hasn’t appeared anywhere else before.
How to take part?
It’s very simple:
1. Register on Sports.ru (if you don’t have an account yet).
2. Between April 21 and May 15, publish a post on any sports topic.
3. Add the tag “Tribuna Award” so we can find you.
Everyone is welcome: experienced writers, beginners, and experts – the key is to have an idea for an interesting piece.
What’s the prize?
The main prize is 100,000 rubles!
By May 19, we will select the top 10 texts, after which user voting will begin to determine the final five.
The overall winner will be chosen by users, experts, and finalists – we’ll collectively evaluate originality, depth, sincerity, and text quality.
Final results will be announced on June 11.
What should you write about?
If you’re unsure about a topic, here are some working ideas – pick one or use them as inspiration to create something unique:
– A story at the intersection of sports and pop culture. Want to explain why the film “Goal!” is the best football movie ever? Or maybe we misunderstood “Space Jam”? Stories like this work well. Recently, a tactical breakdown of a football match from “Kikoriki” became a hit on Tribuna.
– An interesting fact few people know. It could also be at the crossroads of sports and culture, geography, or history. For example, the green jersey of the German national team is a tribute to the Irish, who were the first to play against Germany after World War II. Or that the Montreal Canadiens write “LNH” instead of “NHL” on their jerseys.
– A detail only you noticed. This could be a surprising statistical fact or a tactical innovation by Pep Guardiola that leads his team to another title. You can get inspired by weekly tactical digests from Sports.ru authors or by posts like the one about Nikita Kucherov’s brilliance.
– A vivid story from your own life. Were you at a pivotal match in your favorite team’s history? Which player’s performance left a lasting impression and why? Perhaps sports have influenced your entire family? This is your unique experience – no one else can write it. You can become a star on Tribuna even with a story about an Amkar football shirt!
– Nostalgia. What moment in sports history would you change? Every fan has a scar on their heart: a post in the final, a disallowed goal, an injury to a key player before a decisive game. Recall those moments: what went wrong? What would an alternate reality look like if you could turn back time? For example, there’s a great account about Roberto Baggio’s famous penalty.
And remember: these are just suggestions. We are not confining you to these examples. Your topic can be absolutely anything. Want to write a philosophical essay on the nature of sports fandom? Go ahead. Analyze the psychology of a goalkeeper who let in the decisive goal? Great. Compare the training of biathletes to the daily routine of chess players? Sounds interesting!

If the thought “I’ve never written before, why should I enter?” crosses your mind – push it away. This category is not about credentials or follower counts. Absolutely any story or post can win.
We evaluate not the author’s resume, but the substance of the material – its sincerity, depth, and ability to strike a chord. Tribuna is a place where debutants have often become stars. We welcome newcomers and are always ready to support them. Don’t be afraid – just write.
A useful tip: you can publish multiple posts – don’t limit yourself to just one! Try different topics and formats. The more stories you share, the higher the chance that one of them will be remembered.
