Greenpak Clean Up 2009
on 31st October 2009 - Sirens Beach & Underwater Cleanup
The
Fourth Annual Seabed Clean up, was organised by the GreenPak scheme
operated by Green Dot Malta Ltd. Event took place on 31st
October 2009. This year’s campaign “Cleaning the seabed in one big
sweep” was a great success with 250 divers and 42 organisations
teaming up for Malta's Largest ever seabed cleanup.
Subway was at the Cleanup and together with New Dimensions Scuba and
other volunteers cleaned Sirens Area - Once again the amount of
rubbish that was brought up was amazing. Browse through the

Clean Up 22nd
February 2008:
San
Anton School Project AWARE Kids Beach Clean Up was held today 22nd
February 2008 at Torri L-Abjad.
Clean up kicked off at 9.15am and Diveshack together with
the help of other divers also organised an underwater Clean
Up. The
children were split up in small groups and each group had a
grown up supervising them. It
was amazing how much rubbish was collected and Il-Bajja
Tat-Torri L-Abjad is definately a cleaner and safer place to
go to from today...
Subway was at the clean up supervising the children...
Well done to the
organisers of this Clean Up and for their special
care and precautions that they took so that the
children were not in contact with any danger.
This Event was
also covered by the TV Programme X'Qala L-Bahar!
A Special Well done goes to the Children!
On
Saturday 19th January 2008, Subway Dive Centre PADI 5*IDC
& National Geographic Dive Centre organised a Beach and Underwater
Clean Up at Sirens, St Pauls Bay.
The aim of the event was to clean up the
litter from the sea and raise an awareness of the fragile nature of
the marine habitat. With this event we also raised money for the
environmental charity Project AWARE
www.projectaware.org
We
had teams of divers in the water collecting litter and non divers
cleaning up the beach and helping to take the full bags out of the
water. The amount of rubbish taken out of the water was incredible
and is a sad reflection on how people treat the sea.
A
Special Thank you goes to the Divers and Non Divers who came
to Sirens and helped out to make this Event a Success! and to St.
Paul's Bay Local Council who supplied us with permit, bags,
skip and their Support.
Hopefully, our efforts will inspire others to maintain a clean
environment and protect our aquatic friends.
This Event will
be Subway's yearly contribution towards a healthier environment.
Donating through this site is simple,
fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor
me: Project AWARE will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK
taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to
you.
Help Us – Make a Difference! Thank
you all for your Help and Support.
